  Bertha J. Madsen Died April 21, 2005 Bertha J. Madsen, 84, died on Thursday, April 21 at Oakview Medical Care Facility, after suffering a stroke. Born Berta Johanna Kristiansen in Denmark in 1920, she emigrated to the United States with her family. She was given the name Bertha Christensen by immigration and was raised in Scottville. She married Clarence Madsen 66 years ago and together they had two children, Harriet (Klotz), who died in 2002 and Raymond, who now lives in Connecticut. In addition to her loving husband and son, she is survived by her sister, Gerda Schaap; and son-in-law, Charles Klotz. She also leaves behind five wonderful grandchildren, Charles Klotz Jr., Thomas Klotz, Dawn McHale, Jennifer Klotz and Shelley Havern, and their loving families, including six great-grandchildren.
