Agnes Higgins, 96, local homemaker
FOREST GROVE - Agnes M. Higgins, 96, died Aug. 14, 2009, at her home.
Services have been held, with interment at Skyline Memorial Gardens, Portland.
Agnes Christiansen was born July 16, 1913, in Horton, Kan. She spent her early life in Twin Falls, Idaho.
She married James Higgins, Nov. 20, 1937, in Twin Falls.
She was a homemaker, a librarian for a time, and a member of Reedville Presbyterian Church and Reedville Presbyterian Tri-n-Will Women's Group. She also belonged to Aloha Grange and Aloha Rebekahs and had been an active league bowler in Hillsboro.
She was an Aloha and Hillsboro resident since 1942, and a Forest Grove resident since 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Annie Christiansen, and a daughter Sharon Higgins in 1959.
Survivors include her husband, James Higgins; her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Peggy Higgins; her daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Jim McGowan and Linda and Roger Hooper; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Remembrances: Washington County Hospice or Reedville Presbyterian Church.
Services: Donelson-Fir Lawn, Hillsboro.
