  The Renwick Times, Renwick, Iowa May 3, 1956 Hans Holm, son of Willars and Yakavina Holm, was born October 10, 1866 in the town of Brons, Schlesvig, Denmark. He was baptized in early youth in the Danish Lutheran faith. Mr. Holm was united in marriage to Marie Wienburg in the year 1892 and came to the United States and settled in Shelby County. To this union was born six children. in the year 1911 they moved to the farm five miles east of Luverne where they lived for 34 years. In the year 1946 Mr. Holm and his brother, Nels, moved to their new home in Mason City where they spent two years together. At the death of Nels in 1948, Mr. Holm went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Harry Christensen until he entered Mercy Hospital April 18th. He passed away on Friday evening, May 1, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 17 days. [Not a transcription error, though inconsistent with other dates in this obituary.] Mr. Holm was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Leona Holm Klaessy in 1922, his faithful wife, Marie, in November of 1941 and his brother, Nels in February of 1948. He leaves to mourn five children, two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Klaessy of Spencer and Mrs. Inez Christensen of Mason City, three sons, Willars of Ottawa, Ill., Clarence of Rockwell, Iowa and Clifford of LuVerne, 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
