    Helen M. Andersen, age 93, longtime resident of Miles, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa.
    A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Miles First United Presbyterian Church of Miles, Iowa. Burial will take place in Miles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Friday, prior to the service at the Church.
    Helen was born December 14, 1925 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Emma (Nissen) Andersen. She graduated from the Miles High School with the Class of 1944.
    Helen was a homemaker on the family farm. She enjoyed sewing, gardening flowers and vegetables, canning, baking, crafting, and raising chickens. Helen was a proud member of the Jackson County Farm Bureau and the Great River Threshers. She was also an active member of the Miles First United Presbyterian Church and the Church Women’s Group.
    Helen is preceded in death by her mom, dad, sister, Viola Andersen and a sister in infancy.
    She is survived by distant relatives and her family of neighbors and friends.
