    Gerald "Jerry" Floyd McIlravy, 71, died March 31, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Creston. Pastor David Tebbenkamp will officiate the service. Private burial will be at the Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield. Open visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston.     Jerry was born in rural Orient, Iowa on July 2, 1941 to Charley Hugh McIlravy and Olive Christine (Rogers) McIlravy. He graduated from Orient High School in 1959, then the Commercial Extension in Omaha, Neb. Jerry worked as a bus line router for Continental Trailways in Omaha, Neb. and Los Angeles, Calif., then as an aircraft router for Western Airlines in Los Angeles, Calif. On March 13, 1971 he was united in marriage to M. Susan Eder in Los Angeles, Calif. In 1973 Jerry and Susan moved back to rural Orient to farm. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Creston. He enjoyed antique farm equipment, fishing and hunting, spending time tinkering in the shop and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
    Gerald is survived by his wife, Susan McIlravy of rural Creston; three sons, Kevin (wife Michelle) their children, Jayden and Jeremiah McIlravy of Maddock, N.D., Jason (wife Marisa) their children, Alik and Mikhail "Misha" McIlravy of Cambridge and Matt (wife Ashley) McIlravy of Ballinger, TX; two brothers, Dean (wife Nancy) McIlravy of Norwalk and Don (wife Carol) McIlravy of Jamestown, N.D.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Olive (Rogers) McIlravy; and brother James McIlravy
