  John Frederick Schreck, 80, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on August 3, 2015. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Holm Schreck, daughter Lauri Lester, and grandson Steven Lester, of Phoenix; sisters Anna Mae of Fairfax and Barbara Pond of Midlothian, VA. John earned his Doctoral degree from American University. He had a long career in education, retiring as Assistant Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools in 1992. He relocated to Phoenix in 2013. Memorial contributions can be made to the W. Harold Ford Scholarship Fund c/o Fairfax County Retired Educators. No services were held.
