- Glenn H. "Bud" Knutson dies at 95

Glenn H. "Bud" Knutson age 95 of Fredericksburg died Tuesday morning, Nov. 1, 2011, at the New Hampton Care Center.??
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Peace United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg with Pastor Burt Williams presiding. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, with Terry Elliott, Gary Schulz, Bill Mulder, Bryan O?Day, Ron Schutte and Brad Mohs serving as pallbearers. ??Friends may greet the family 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.

Knutson was born December 6, 1915, near Elma, the son of Henry K. and Lillie Julia ?Dolly? (Hanson) Knutson. He married Vera Mae Rodman at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, on February 6, 1938. To this union three children were born. Bud initially farmed for ten years near Fredericksburg and then became an insurance agent and realtor. He is a member of Peace United Church of Christ. In public life he was a Past Master of the Masons, Past President of the Fredericksburg Lions Club and served as secretary and treasurer of the Rose Hill Cemetery for fourteen years. He enjoyed golfing and was a charter member of the Plum Creek Golf Course.??Survivors include two sons; Ronald (Karen) Knutson, Gaylord (Anna Marie) Knutson, all of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
??He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera on May 29, 2010; his only daughter, Wanda Lou Borlaug; a great-grandson; Mike Borlaug; one sister, Karena Hartson.
