Sybil Virginia Castleman, 88, formerly of Battle Avenue, Winchester, died Friday at a local nursing home.

The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a .m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester by the Rev. Dr. James H. Utt. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

Mrs. Castleman was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Boyce, daughter of Charles W. and Audrey Russell Grimm. She was a self-employed beautician. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and past member of the Winchester Women's Civil League. She was the wife of Lewis Marshall Castleman.

Surviving are two daughters, Sybil A. Beasley of Staunton and Marsha Ellen Rust of Winchester; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Beasley, George Rust, Michael Beasley, David Athey, Bob Pierce, Andrew Beasley, Don Athey, Charles Beasley, Marshall Holm, David Rust, Scott Athey, E. Rick Carroll and Weldon "Rusty" Messick.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
